Carol Pankratz was born in Kansas and lived as a Mennonite in rural central Kansas until her attendance at Kansas State University. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design, with a minor in Art. Kansas State University offered one of the first degrees in Interior Architecture so she stayed for her Master of Arts degree through that program.

Immediately after graduation she moved to Dallas to work in commercial and retail space planning. During the years of raising her two sons she gained experience in the field of restoring antiques, and running a small business. This work led her directly into the decorative art field. As a self-employed artist she works with designers and individuals, using her background and knowledge of multi media and techniques as a valuable source for a wide variety of projects. These projects include murals for commercial space, or children’s rooms, hand-painted custom designed furniture, elegant wall patterns and textures, custom painted rugs on canvas or sisal, screens of all sizes, and many objects and surfaces that can take an imaginative change of finish.

Her work has been and is currently seen in various publications, local and national. Projects have included clients in Arizona, Kansas, Massachusetts, South Dakota, and Texas.

To create special effects and dramatically change personal space with proper use of color and pattern is her talent and subtlety is her style.
